Watching Duet op. 9 can be a hypnotic experience. Set to the fascinating, quiet soundscape of Morton Feldman's Bass Clarinet and Percussion, the ballet draws you in with movements that are repeated very slowly, and then suddenly at break neck speed. At times, this contrast is taken to such extremes that time seems to stop; and yet the ballet is over before you know it.
